Sumner -- Mr. and Mrs. Murray Gissell have received word of the promotion of their daughter, Betty Jane, from seaman first class to specialist communications third class. She was inducted in April 1944 and received boot training in the Waves at Hunter college, N.Y., receiving petty officer third class rating in March 1945. She is in the communications department of the bureau of aeronautics at Washington, D.C.
