IOWA WAVES AT TRAINING SCHOOL

Newly enrolled WAVES from Iowa, still in civilian clothes, and "old timers" attending the radio training schools on the University of Wisconsin campus, meet in one of the lounges at the student Memorial union. Frances Ely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Ely, 4333 Allison ave., was commissioned an ensign in the WAVES recently upon completion of her training at the naval midshipman's school, Northampton, Mass. She attended Drake university and worked as a clerk at the Mill Owners Insurance Co. before she entered the WAVES.

Lt. (j.g.) Frances E. Ely, USNR, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Ely, 4333 Allison ave., and Leo Charles Houck, son of Mrs. John Houck, and the late Mr. Houck of Reading, Penn., were married at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Lido Beach Naval center at Lido Beach, Long Island, NY.

Lt L.C. Carter, jr., navy chaplain officiated at theservice.

Mrs. Houck is stationed at Bellmore, Long Island with the United States naval radio security activity. Mr Houck recently was discharged after serving three and a half years in the navy. He was stationed on the USS Pennsylvania.

The couple will live in Baltimore.
