Reunion For Twins in Service

The Dillon Twins - June and Clarence - at Home Saturday

There was double rejoicing at the C.E. Dillon home, 1633 Thirtieth st., where the twin son and daughter of the family Saturday were reunited for the first time since both went into service approximately a year ago.

Second Lieutenant June Dillon, 24, stationed with the army nurses corps at Kearns field, Utah, was spending a leave with her parents when her twin brother, Clarence, called from Ames, Ia., that he would be home on a surprise leave.

Clarence is a chief specialist in the navy, stationed at the naval training station at Farragut, Idaho. He was in Ames on special duty.

The twins attended Roosevelt High school.

June Dillon To Europe

Lt. June Dillon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Dillon, 1633 Thirtieth st., has been assigned as an army flight nurse in the European theater. She left Saturday for San Antonio, Tex. to get her overseas orders.

Lieutenant Dillon had her first experience during the war, when she served for 16 months as flight nurse for the China-Burma-India theater, with an air evacuation squadron. She cared for patients being transported from front lines to base hospitals. She returned to the States in August, 1945, and since then has been stationed at hospitals in Texas.

She does not know yet in what part of Europe she will serve. As a graduate of Roosevelt High school and a former Drake university student, Lieutenant Dillon received her nurse's training at Iowa Methodist hospital where she also worked as an instructor before entering service in December 1942.
