Waverly Girl, 20, Completes Tests to Enter WAACs
Waverly, Ia. -- Audrey Deinema, daughter of J.J. Deinema of Waverly has completed preliminary examinations for entrance in the WAACs and has returned here to await her twenty-first birthday on April 16 before she can be sworn in as a member. She will go to Des Moines on that date and return here until called to service. She will be the first WAAC to go from Waverly.
The Deinema's only son, Jack is in the US. marine corps and is somewhere in the Pacific area. A message to his parents, received here this week assures them that he is well and had recently received letter and packages, which they had sent him.

WAC INJURED WHEN HORSE THROWS HER
Waverly, Ia. -- Cpl. Audrey Deinema, 23, Wac spending a furlough at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Deinema, Waverly, Ia., sustained sever back and face injuries Saturday afternoon when she was thrown by a horse at the Nanke stables in Cedar Falls.
Following the accident, she was taken to Sartori hospital and when moved to her home here in an ambulance.
Corporal Deinema is stationed at Ft. Myer, Va.
