WAVE of the Day

Among those who have recently enlisted in the WAVES is Miss Earlyn Kathryn Dannatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dannatt of McCausland.

Miss Dannatt is a graduate of Davenport high school, class of 1939. While in school here, she won a Girls' Athletic association letter and was active in fencing. She was a member of the Latin club and of the Home Economics club.

Prior to her enlistment she was employed as head of the production control booth at Douglas Aircraft in California.

ON DUTY AT NAVY HOSPITAL

Now serving with a detachment of WAVES at a U.S. naval hospital where several hundred Marines are convalescing from wounds received on Iwo Jima is Earlyn K. Dannatt, who is pictured in a neuro-surgery ward. Miss Dannatt, 23, a hospital apprentice, first class, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Dannatt, McCausland. A graduate of Davenport high school, she was employed in the production control department of Douglas Aircraft, Tulsa, Okla., before entering the service.
