JOINS WAVES
Jane F. Cronkleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cronkleton of Donahue, has enlisted in the WAVES and will report to Hunter college, New York City, for basic training. She is the first woman from Donahue and vicinity to enlist in the women's forces and has been employed by the American Optical Co. in Davenport. She graduated from I.C. A. in 1939.

TWO SCOTT COUNTY WOMEN RESERVISTS ON ACTIVE DUTY
Alice Elizabeth Durand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Durand, 1006 Harrison street, and Jane Conkleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Conkleton, R.R. No. 1, Donahue, yeoman on the women's reservists, have reported for active duty to the chief of naval operations, Washington, D.C.
The two Scott County women graduated from the naval training school for yeoman at Oklahoma A&M university, Stillwater, Okla. After experience at their new station assignment, they will be eligible for higher advancement in the petty officer ratings.

JANE CONKLETON PROMOTED
Donahue, Ia. -- Jane F. Conkleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Conkleton, has been promoted from yeoman, third class to specialist, second class in the WAVES at Washington, D.C. She joined the WAVES Aug. 11, 1943.

Jane Frances Cronkleton, specialist "I", second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cronkleton, Donahue, has received her discharge from the navy.
Miss Cronkleton entered the service Aug. 12, 1943 and was last on duty at Communications Navy Annex, Washington, D.C.
