Miss Artis B. Conover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. Conover, 2626 Sheridan street, has arrived at Hunter college, New York, to begin training with the WAVES. She was sworn into the service of the navy, Oct 27, 1944 and was recently called to active duty.
A former employee of the M.L. Parker Co., Miss Conover was graduated from the Davenport high school, where she was a member of the high school band.

Home on a seven-day leave is Artis Conover, specialist I, third class, of the WAVES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray F. Conover, 2626 Sheridan avenue. Miss Conover entered the service Jan. 11, taking her basic instruction at Hunter college, New York. She has received IBM machine training at New York City and is now stationed in the tabulating divisions of the naval supply dept, Mechanicburg, Pa.
