Miss Betty Jean Clapp, daughter of Mrs. Esther Wert Clapp, of Davenport, has been accepted in the Army Nurse Corps and has been given the rank of second Lieutenant. She will report this morning to Camp McCoy, Wisconsin, for her basic training.
Lt. Clapp is a graduate of Davenport high school in the class of 1939 and the St. Anthony's school of nursing in Rock Island in 1943. Since her graduation she has been in the staff at Wesley Memorial hospital in Chicago in the orthopedic division.
