Miss Ruby Chisel Joins the WAVES
Miss Ruby L. Chisel, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Chisel of 1018 Pershing avenue, Davenport, will leave Thursday for Hunter college in New York City for indoctrination training in the WAVES.
Miss Chisel attended Coe college in Cedar Rapids following graduation from Davenport high school and has been employed in the procurement department of the Rock Island arsenal. Her brother, Aviation Student Dean Chisel, is stationed at San Antonio, Tex., with the army air corps.

WAVE to Wed
Thursday, Jan. 20, has been set for the wedding of Miss Ruby Chisel, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Chisel, 1018 Pershing ave., Davenport, and Corp. Byron Earl Hill. The ceremony will be performed in the post chapel at Fort Belvoir, Va.
Miss Chisel, a yeoman, third class, on the WAVES, is a graduate of Davenport High school and attended the American Institute of Commerce and Coe college, Cedar Rapids, Ia., where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She was formerly employed at the Rock island arsenal.
Corp Hill attended Oklahoma university and was employed bat the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co in Russell, Kan. He has served seven months with the engineer corps in the South Pacific. Corp Hill and his bride-elect are now stationed in Washington, D.C.
