Annabelle Chase

Mrs. John Keener

 

 

Annabelle Chase, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Chase, 911 Forty-fifth st., is now a commissioned ensign in the naval reserve.

Ensign Chase, who was recently graduated from midshipman's school at Northampton, Mass., was employed by the Equitable Life Insurance Co. of Iowa before entering the service.

ENSIGN CHASE ON LEAVE

On leave from her duties with the bureau of aeronautics at Washington, D.C., Ensign Annabelle Chase, USNR has been visiting with her parents and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Chase and Mrs. Ben J. Gibson, 911 Forty-fifth st.

NAVY WEDDING IN WASHINGTON

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Chase, 911 Fifthy-fifth st, announce the marriage of their daughter Ensign Annabelle Chase, WAVE, to Lieut. John Rankin Keener, USNR, son of Mrs John W. Keener of Washington, D.C.

The wedding took place May 22, at 10.a.m. in the St. Andrews naval academy chapel with the Rev Francis X. Murphy performing the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Roosevelt high school and attended the College of St. Catherine at St Paul, Minn. Lieutenant Keener received his LLB degree from George Washington university. Both Lieutenant and Mrs. Keener are on duty in the navy department in Washington. They are living at Sherwood Forest, Md.

Des Moines in the Services

Lt. Annabelle Chase Keener, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Chase , 911 Forty-fifth at., and Martha Matilda Frantz, graduate of St. Joseph academy here, have been discharged from the WAVES at Washington D.C.

Miss Frantz, former specialist (X), second class, joined the service Jan. 6, 1944. Her last duty station was at the navy photographic intelligence center at Washington. Mrs. Keener, who entered the navy Mar. 13, 1943, last was stationed in the navy bureau of aeronautics at Washington.
