Miss Helen Fartstrup and Miss Margaret Casey, who taught in the Lone Tree school this year, have joined the WAAC and have gone to Fort Devens, Mass., for their training.

70 Pct. Of Iowa WACs From Fighting Families
A survey of approximately 70 per cent of the total Iowa WAC enlistment reveals its close integration with the war effort through service of members overseas and in this county, and through other members of their families.

FORMER TEACHERS.
Three enlistees of June, all former school teachers, were on foreign duty by the close of the summer. They were Pvt. Iva Boda, of Sheldahl, now in England, and Pvt. Margaret Casey, of Lawler and Pvt. Helen Farstrup of Exira, both in North Africa.

Lawler -- An announcement was received Wednesday by Mr and Mrs. W.J. Casey here of the marriage of their daughter, WAC Sgt. Margaret R. Casey, to Warrant Officer Victor A. Amoroso, son of Victor Amoroso, New York, N.Y., which took place at Marseille, France, April 19. The couple is shown following their exchange of double ring vows read by Rev. Patrick B. Fay, Brooklyn, N.Y., chief chaplain of the base section, in the Delta base WAC detachment's chapel. Attendants were Cpl. Helen Farstrup, Exira, Ia., and Maj. M. Papovitch, Corvallis, Ore., The couple spent a brief honeymoon in Cannes. The bride is a former school teacher at Lawler.

Margaret Rose Casey Amoroso was born Sept. 11, 1913 to William and Nellie Marshall Casey. She died Dec. 22, 1981 and is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lawler, IA.
Sgt. Casey served with the U.S. Army WACs in World War II. She was married to Victor A. Amoroso. Chief Warrant Officer Victor Amoroso served with the U.S. Army. He has a cenotaph in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
