Ruth Buckles, WAVE, Receives Training At Cedar Falls, Ia.
Woman Reservist, Ruth L. Buckles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Buckles, 3020 Dubuque street, was enrolled recently at the naval training school (Yeoman-W) on the Iowa State Teachers college campus, Cedar Falls, Ia.
Miss Buckles was selected for her specialty training on the basis of her recruit training aptitude tests and past civilian experience. The course of yeoman study includes shorthand, typing, naval correspondence, records and forms and current events.
Completion of this course makes Miss Buckles eligible to win a petty officer rating before receiving further duty orders.
