Des Moines in the Service
June E. Braun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Braum, 1010 Twenty-ninth st. was graduated with a class of women's airforce service pilots (WASP) at Avenger field, Sweetwater, Tex. Miss Braun, former student of Drake university, worked as legal secretary in Des Moines and as receptionist at Boyt Harness Co. before joining the WASP.
She served as vice president of the Des Moines Aircraft Owners and Pilot association and was deputy engineering officer of the civil air patrol. She is a flight lieutenant of her class at Avenger.

Miss June E. Braun, women's army service pilot, stationed at Merced Army air field in Merced, Calif., and Capt John Trowbridge Bent of Minter Army air field at Bakersfield, Cal., were married July 17 with the post chaplain officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Braun, 1010 Twenty-ninth st. She was graduated from Roosevelt High school and attended Drake university, where she was affiliated with the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Captain Bent is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter G. Bent of Salem End, Mount Park, Harrow, Middlesex, England.
He was born in this country and attended St. Edwards school, Oxford, and Cambridge university, where he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees. He took postgraduate courses at the University of Berlin and the University of London. In civilian life, he is a chemical engineer with the Tennessee Eastman Corp.
Capt Bent joined the air force in September, 1941, and took part n the original invasion of Africa, also the Libyan and Tunisian campaigns.
