Maynard -- Misses Dorothy and Winifred Arthur, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Arthur, have sworn into the Wac under the Purple Heart plat at Des Moines and will go with the all-Iowa platoon to Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., for training. After completion of their training they will be assigned to duties at Schick general hospital at Clinton, Ia.
Dorothy, 24, is a graduate of Maynard high school and attended Upper Iowa university at Fayette for a short time. Before her enlistment she as employed as an inspector at the Midland Manufacturing Co. at Oelwein. Winifred, 20, is a graduate of Fayette high school and before her enlistment was a telephone operator at Oelwein.
An older brother, Pvt. Robert Arthur, of the infantry, was killed in action in France Aug. 6, 1944.

On Furlough
