D-DAY WAC RECRUITS -- Three young women, two of whom have relatives in the service, took their final physical examination and were sworn into the WACS yesterday. They will leave the latter part of the month for Des Moines to start their basic training.
Shown are as follows: left to right, Mrs. Jean Andersen, 127 West Thirteenth street, Davenport, daughter of Mrs. Lilly Davis of Monmouth, Ill., whose husband, Cpl. Norman L. Andersen is now in England with an anti-aircraft battery. Miss Marcella Forgie, 2506 East street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Forgie. Before entering the service, Miss Forgie was employed in the Davenport Bank building, and Miss Gladys Schneckloth, Princeton, Ia., daughter of Harry Schneckloth. She has a step-brother, James Meredith, now with the air corps in England and a brother-in-law, Robert Hallin also with the air corps stationed at Greenville, S.C.
