FIVE ENLISTED AT NAVY OFFICE
Enlistment of one local youth and four southwestern Iowans in the navy was announced Wednesday by Chief Recruiter E. S. Newton at the local recruiting station.
Those who have been enlisted include Gerald Chapman Knowles, son of Lamonie C. Knowles, 3200 Avenue K; Calvin Coolidge Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Smith of Woodbine; Alfred James Springer, son of Milton Wilburton Springer of Honey Creek; Eldon Dean Coin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Roland Coin of Coin, and Donald Duane Hester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luchen Edward Hester of Mondamin.
