PRISONERS OF WAR FROM HENRY COUNTY ARE LISTED

Henry county relatives of men who were prisoners of war in Germany anxiously await word from them. All likely have been freed, information from Germany indicates, but the mail facilities out of the country have broken down temporarily.

A list of the prisoners from the county has been compiled by the News. It may not include all. Corrections and additions should be mailed or telephoned to the News office.

The List:

Lt. Herbert D. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Olson, Winfield, reported missing over Germany Nov. 30, 1944; reported prisoner in Germany Jan. 14, 1945.

St. Sgt. Leo Jeambey, son of Rev. and Mrs. E. L. Jeambey and husband of Evelyn White Jeambey, in Germany.

Gifford Shuey, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Shuey and husband of Velma Shuey, in Germany.

Lloyd Lauger, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Lauger, in Germany.

Robert H. Dahl, New London, missing after Nov. 10, 1944, and reported prisoner of war, Feb. 8, 1945.

Joseph Carson, New London, reported missing Feb. 17, 1943, prisoner of Italian government, April 17, 1943; later reported prisoner of Germans.

Lt. Harold Dumse, New London, missing in European area, Jan. 27, 1944, reported prisoner of Germans March 9, 1944, released from prison camp in April, 1945.

T-Sgt. Glen Despain, New London, reported missing over Romania, May 31, 1944, later reported down over Yugoslavia; released from German prison camp in April, 1945.

John Francis Burns, missing in North Africa, Feb. 17, 1942, later reported prisoner of war in Germany.

Lt. Glen Hultquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hultquist, Swedesburg, reported missing and later reported prisoner of war in Germany.

Wilbur Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cooper, prisoner of war in Germany, reported March 25, 1942.

Sgt. Lorrance Jackson, New London, reported missing in action over Germany Sept. 12, 1944; later reported interned in Switzerland after a forced landing and released March 8, 1945.

James A. Mullins, New London, prisoner of war in Germany, March 6, 1945.

Edward Beach, missing in North Africa, Feb. 17, 1942, prisoner of war in Germany.

Capt. Hollis Norton, New London, prisoner of the Japs since the fall of Corrigedor.

Capt. Robert Wray, prisoner of the Japs since the fall of the Philippines.
