Dr. Richard Alonzo Young was born July 18, 1919 to Howard Augustus and Mary Leona Johnson Young. He died Apr. 2, 2005 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, IA.
Pvt. Young served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Co. C, Army Specialized Training Unit 3703. He also served in the Korean War.
Dr. Young came to Clarion as a young doctor and made it his home. He was instrumental in bringing a hospital to the community and spent many years helping make Clarion a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
