BROTHERS MEET
WILLIAMS—Sgt. Carl Wulkau and Cpl. George Wulkau of Williams, who have been stationed at different bases on New Guinea, recently enjoyed a three-day visit together, Sergeant Wulkau flying by plane to his brother’s station. The two had not met for more than two years as the sergeant has been in the army for that length of time in the west coast and in the Pacific.

Carl Fayette ‘Babe’ Wulkau was born Oct. 18, 1916 to Carl and Pauline Sprugel Wulkau. He died Sept. 14, 1999 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery, Williams, IA.
Sgt. Wulkau served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Islands.

Carl “Babe” Fay Wulkau, 82, Carson City, NV, died Sept. 14, 1999 at Carson Tahoe Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by the J T Oswald Mortuary in Reseda CA. Walton’s Chapel of the Valley was in charge of arrangements.
Carl Fay Wulkau, son of Carl and Pauline Sprugel Wulkau, was born Oct. 28, 1916 in Webster City. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 and left the service with the rank of staff sergeant. He worked as a meat cutter for Sons Supermarket, Dales Grocery and Hanson’s J&S Meats for 32 years. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Carson City. He moved to Carson City in November of 1994, coming from Newbury Park, CA.
Survivors are his wife, Mary of Carson City, NV, daughter Carla Cracer of Saugus, CA, sisters-in-law Phyllis Walters of Burbank, CA, and Mildred Wulkau, Williams; three grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
