R. L. Wilson dies at 60
Raymond L. Wilson, 60, a former Webster City resident, died Sunday morning at his home in Waterloo. He had been in ill health for several years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Dale Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Graveside military services will be held.
Raymond LeRoy Wilson, son of Edd and Stella King Wilson, was born Jan. 19, 1909, at Mt. Vernon, Ill. When he was eight years old, he came with his parents to Webster City, and was reared and educated in the Webster City community.
For a number of years he engaged in construction work in this area, but for the past nine years he resided in Waterloo where he was employed by the American Legion Auxiliary through the Cappers Publications Co. of Topeka, Kans.
He is survived by two sons; Donald Wilson of Clarion, and Lyle E. Wilson of Cedar Rapids; two brothers and three sisters, Gilbert Wilson of Woolstock, Harold Wilson of Webster City, Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Mickelson and Mrs. Clyde (Mary) Strachan and Mrs. Frances Seiser, all of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Mr. Wilson served with the U.S. Armed forces during World War II in the European ware theater. He was a member of the American Legion.
