Funeral services for Warren W. Williams, 67, former Webster City resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Urain officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Flag-folding services will be conducted at graveside by the American Legion Post 191.
Mr. Williams died Thursday evening at the Veterans’ hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Warren William Williams, son of Harry and Serena Williams, was born Dec. 11, 1915, at Eagle Grove. He was reared and educated in the Webster City schools being graduated in 1935 from Webster City high school.
Following his graduation, he moved to Chicago being employed by the New York Life Insurance Co.
He was married in 1940 to Mary Frances Williams, and later he owned and operated the DeSoto-Plymouth Co. at Indianola. The family moved to Park Rapids, Minn., in 1955.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Larry Williams of Coon Rapids, Minn.; three grandchildren, Rick, David and Dana Williams; and one sister, Mrs. Aaron (Audrey) Baron of Morro Bay, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He built and operated the Champlin Station in Park Rapids, and later operated the Park Rapids Lumber Co. in 1962. He platted and organized the Fish Hook Park addition north of Park Rapids, and also was a broker with Minnesota Real Estate. He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of the Elks lodge for 45 years and was an American Legion member in Park Rapids. [He served in the U.S. Airforce.]
