Robert Wayland Williams was born Sept. 21, 1923 to Henry H. and Bertha E. Barnett Williams. He died Sept. 8, 1997 in Pasadena, CA.
Capt. Williams served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 100th Squadron, part of the 332nd Fighter Group that also included the 99th Squadron. He was the author of “The Red Tails: World War II’s Tuskegee Airmen” that became the basis for the movie “The Tuskegee Airmen”.
