Virgil Curtis Willard was born Oct. 29, 1919 to Harry Vinson and Jennie Grange Willard. He died Feb. 27, 1944 and is buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Sioux Rapids, IA.
Lt. Willard served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II with the 404th Bomb Squadron, 28th Bomb Group. He was KIA in Shemya, Alaska.
