Donald Thomas Whitty was born Feb. 11, 1921 and he died June 24, 2002 and is buried in Saint Johns Cemetery, Clarion, IA.
Sgt. Whitty served in World War II with the U.S. Army’s 90th Infantry Division as part of Patton’s Third Army in the European Theater. The 90th participated in major offensives including the Falaise Gap, the Battle of the Bulge, the siege of Metz and the liberation of Czechoslovakia.
