Frederick Christian Welz, Jr. was born Oct. 9, 1919 to Frederick C. (Sr.) and Mabel Oversen Welz. He died Oct. 7, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY.
Cpl. Welz was Lost at Sea near Goose Bay, Labrador while serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator on a B-24.
