TM 3/C Leonard Lyle Wells
Leonard Lyle Wells, was born May 31, 1923 in Clarke Co. Iowa. He entered the service on June 30, 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa. He received his training at the Great Lakes Naval Station, Great Lakes, Ill.; Fleet Torpedo School at U. S. Destroyer Base, San Diego, Calif.; U. S. Receiving Station, San Diego, Calif.; Receiving Ship Detail, Treasure Island, Calif. Leonard is a Torpedo Mate in the Navy. On October 16, 1943, at San Diego, Calif. He received his first promotion from A.S. to S/C; and on March 15, 1944 from S1/C to T. M. 3/C. His next of kin is his father, Granville F. Wells, whose address is Decatur, Iowa.
