Joseph Francis “Joe” Welch was born about 1923 to Frank and Ditta Cunningham Welch. He died Sept. 23, 1943 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Lt. Welch served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps aboard C-46A Commando #41-12356 when it crashed near McCloud, CA due to an engine fire.
