Leonard P. Weitz was born in 1917 to Henry C. and Lidwina A. Kessler Weitz. He died May 13, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy and has a cenotaph in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.
Pvt. Weitz served in World War II with the U.S. Army 339th Infantry, 85th Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.
