Eugene Vincent Wehrheim was born Oct. 2, 1918 to Valentine H. and Martha E. McDonald Wehrheim. He died July 5, 1996 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Eugene served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was with the Division Headquarters Company, 91st Infantry Division, Company B, 316th Medical Battalion.

Eugene V. Wehrheim, Sr., 77, Solon, a former Webster City resident died Friday, July 5, 1996 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Iowa City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, with Rev. John J. Walsh officiating. A scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home in Webster City. Graveside military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 191. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday until 9 a.m. Wednesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
Eugene Vincent Wehrheim, son of Valentine and Martha (McDonald) Wehrheim, was born Oct. 2, 1918, at Webster City. He attended Webster City school, graduating in 1936. He also attended Webster City Junior College and Chillicothe Business College in Missouri. He was employed at the Smith Clothing Store. From 1942 to 1944, he served with the U.S. Army - Infantry. Following his discharge, he was affiliated with his father and brother in the Wehrheim Sales Pavilion and in real estate in the Webster City area.
On April 12, 1944, he married Helen Richardson in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City until 1971, when they moved to Solon. He retired in 1971 because of failing health.
Mr. Wehrheim is survived by: his wife, Helen; son and daughter-in-law Eugene and Nancy Wehrheim, daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Robert Hawkins, all of Solon; grandchildren Cody and Dustin Hawkins, Vincent and Rachel Wehrheim; great-grandchildren Ashley and Austin Hawkins; sisters Virginia Nichols, Los Alamitos, Calif., an Lucille Baker, Portland, Or.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Wehrheim.
Mr. Wehrheim was a member of the Webster City American Legion and was past commander of the Disabled Veterans of America from 1950 to 1953.
