Lee Waterman was bon Apr. 26, 1911 to Roy Chester and Jeanette Ward Waterman. He died Oct. 24, 1944, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Waterman served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Birmingham (CL-62) and was KIA in an explosion aboard his ship while fighting a fire on an aircraft carrier at sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
