Sgt. Valdemar T. Wanned, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Wanned, 2328 DuPont Street, is convalescing in a hospital in Germany after a brief illness.
A brother, Pvt. Harry A. Wanned, is serving with the marines in the South Pacific.

Harry Arnold Wanned was born Mar. 31, 1926 to Walter Theodore and Rosa May Way Wanned. He died Sept. 10, 2013 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
Harry served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.
