S. Sgt. Frank A. Walish, whose wife resides at 111 Kansas Street, has been awarded the bronze star medal for meritorious service in direct support of combat operations. He is a ground crew chief of a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter bomber at a Ninth Air Force fighter-bomber base in Belgium.
