Charles Earl Vavra was born Mar. 16, 1925 to Joe and Barbara Vavra. He died Sept. 13, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Sgt. Vavra served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 579th Bomber Squadron, 392nd Bomber Group, Heavy and died in Metz, France in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
