Francois Harry Van Horn was born Mar. 6, 1923 to John Wesley and Rosalie Eugene Fosse Van Horn. He died Nov. 11, 1943 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii and memorialized in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Sgt. Van Horn served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 90th Bomb Group and was KIA when the aircraft of which he was a crew member crashed near Port Moresby, New Guinea, while returning from a mission.
