The Purple Heart has been received by Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Valeika, 220 S. Wescott Street, parents of S. Sgt. Casey J. Valeika, five months after he was seriously wounded in Italy. Overseas 37 months, Sgt. Valeika is a member of the 133d infantry, 34th Red Bull division, which fought first in the mountain ranges of Tunisia defeating the Germans in the famous battle of hill 609, then at Arno, Cassino, Anzio, and the drives above Rome. With a record of having taken every objective assigned to it, this infantry regiment has become one of the most decorated units in the Mediterranean theater.
