Private Robert J. Thornton, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo J. Thornton, 2100 Ross Street, has been graduated from the factory training school operated by the army air force at the Republic Aviation Corporation plant at Farmingdale, N.Y. Private Thornton was inducted into the army June 3, 1942.

S. Sgt. Robert J. Thornton, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Thornton, 2100 Ross Street, has been awarded the bronze star for meritorious service. He is a ground crew chief of a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter-bomber at a Ninth Air Force fighter-bomber base in Belgium.
