IN UNIFORM.
S. Sgt. Chelsea W. Thompson, whose wife resides at 1602 Douglas Street, is recuperating at the 317th station hospital in England from wounds received at the battle of Saarlautern, Germany. He has been awarded the Purple Heart. Sgt. Thompson was wounded in the right leg by shrapnel while his infantry mortar squad was giving support to soldiers in the attack on the German City. He is reported to be recovering satisfactorily and soon will return to duty.
