Ivan William Thede was born Apr. 16, 1921 to William and Emma Sporleder Thede. He died Sept. 17, 1944 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Netherlands.
Sgt. Thede served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 79th Squadron, 435th Troop Carrier Group and was KIA over Holland. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross.
