Alvin Roger Tagesen was born Dec. 1, 1920 to John P. and Bertha M. Stottenberg Tagesen. He died Mar. 23, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Tagesen served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was awarded the Purple Heart.
