Edward Stewart was born Sept. 30, 1912 to Matthew A. and Winona Williamson Stewart. He died Nov. 29, 1943 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Italy.
Capt. Stewart served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 151st Field Artillery Battalion, 34th Division and was KIA in Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart, two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Legion of Merit Medal.
