Hugh Otto Steffen was born Nov. 16, 1918 to Hugh Otto and Emma Eriksen Steffen. He died Oct. 18, 1943 and is buried in Durant Cemetery, Durant, IA.
Lt. Steffen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was killed in an airplane crash near Perry, GA while in the service of his country.
