Meet for First Time in 3 Years
There was a grand reunion in Neuremberg, Germany, recently when two Sioux City brothers, Pfc. Stanley J. and Cpl. Edward Steck, met there for the first time in over three years.
Edward, who was stationed at Brienswieg, a camp 300 miles from Neuremberg, hearing that his brother was so close, received permission from his commander officer to travel there to visit him for a day. The brothers were overjoyed when they met for they had not seen each other since they were here together three years ago in the home of their mother, Mrs. Carrie Garber, 416 Lafayette Street.
Stanley entered the service in June 1943 and received his training at Camp Edwards, Mass., and Camp Polk, La. He went overseas seven months ago and has seen duty in England, Belgium and Germany. Edward has been in the army for almost three years, two years and three months of which he has spent overseas in England, France and Germany.
Both of them wear the E.T.O. ribbon with three battle stars. Stanley is expected home sometime in the near future under the army redeployment plan.
