Russell Leroy Starner was born Jan. 5, 1925 to Herbert F. and Aura Caroline Gill Starner. He died Feb. 13, 1945 and is buried in Shelby Cemetery, Shelby, IA.
Pvt. Starner served in World War II with the U.S. Army 319th Infantry and was MIA/KIA in Germany.
