Donald Eugene Songer was born Sept. 30, 1919 to Harold Harrison and Catherine Cosgrove Songer. He died Sept. 26, 2013 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
Colonel Songer was a decorated veteran of World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam. He loves his country, his beloved United States Air Force, and flying airplanes. Don retired from the Air Force in 1970, having served in the Army Air Corps, the Iowa National Guard and the USAF since enrolling as a cadet in 1942.
