Among Iowa servicemen brought together at “The Last Resort,” Red Cross service club in Egypt, by Club Director Nels Quam of Randall, Ia., were Tech. Sergt. Bud J. Sonderleiter (left) and Corp. Clifton Wood, who were next door neighbors in Des Moines before entering the service.

Bud Jack Sonderleiter was born Nov. 17, 1917 to Frank and Daisy Blades Sonderleiter. He died Nov. 23, 1916 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. Bud served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
