Sheldon, Iowa—Wayne Smith of Sheldon who has been stationed with the army at Miami, Florida, is home on a short furlough on his way to the army technical school at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he is being transferred. He is visiting his wife and his mother, Mrs. Anna Smith, both of Sheldon.

Wayne John Smith was born Jan. 15, 1916 to William B. and Anna Nelson Smith. He died Dec. 10, 1998 and is buried in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Sheldon, IA.
