Robert Jacob Simmering was born Feb. 22, 1921 to Henry Jacob and Cecile Leora Shockley SImmering. He died Nov. 6, 1944 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Washington, IA.
Sgt. Simmering served with the U.S. Army 383rd Infantry Regiment, 96th Division in World War II and was KIA on Leyte Island, Philippine Islands.
