Joseph J. Shimon was born Nov. 27, 1912 to Joseph F. and Agnes Frances Ezechek Shimon. He died July 24, 1943 and is buried in Saint Josephs Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.
Sgt. Shimon served in World War II with the U.S. Army 39th Infantry, 9th Division and died in the North African area of an accidental gunshot wound.
