John Shima, Jr. was born Mar. 5, 1918 to John (Sr.) and Mary Shima. He died Oct. 18, 2012 in Montana.
John served 10 years in the Navy and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He served aboard the USS West Virginia (BB-48) which was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He also served on the USS YP-72, the USS Elkorn in Korea and was based in Dutch Harbor and Amchitka, Alaska.
