Henry Edward Shields was born Mar. 1, 1923 to Henry S. and Edith Mae Corrette Shields. He died Nov. 4, 1944 and is buried in Florence American Cemetery and Memorial, Florence, Italy.
Sgt. Shields served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 727th Bomber Squadron, 451st Bomb Group, Heavy and was KIA in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
